This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image shows a man wearing a DePuy Uniform, glasses, ear defenders (that are not currently over his ears) and an ID card. He is holding a component or tool reminiscent of a screwdriver, though without the pointed end. There is a machine in the background which is open and has another piece similar to the one he is holding inside. From previous pictures I recognize the machine behind him as a Wet Blast Processing Unit.
