This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a worker standing above a worktable. The top part of their body is cut out of the frame, so only their hands and the DePuy uniform they are wearing can be seen. They are holding something in their hands, but the blurriness of the image makes it difficult to determine what it is. The table below them has 10 components, a sheet of paper, a rectangular box, a stick like object (which I've seen used in other images to hold a component in place while whittling away at it - such as H.2025.11.44.9), a pair of gloves and a bucket.
