This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a man wearing glasses, an ID card and the DePuy uniform holding a pair of objects in both hands. One of them is used to hold a shiny curved component, the other is used to hold a thin dull piece. Both pieces are being pressed together, possibly to measure length or curvature. Two grinding/sanding machines can be seen on the right of the frame and a table can be seen on the bottom of the frame, but both are obscured.
