This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.
This image depicts a pavement and road separated by a fence. A person can be seen in the far distance. Signs displaying a 10 mile and hour speed limit can also be seen. Two bins sit at the opposite side of the road. In the distance the road seems to open out into the car park. The sun peeks out over the buildings on the left, casting a bright glow over the road.
