This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image shows a piece of paper advertising a job club that has been stuck to the wall. Though the logo at the top has been obscured by the object used to secure the piece of paper to the wall, I believe it is the logo for Unite the Union. The club says it can help you with applying and searching for vacancies online, creating and updating a CV, completing and help completing application forms, CSCS trainings (related to site safety), developing computer skills and offer opportunities for Maths and English qualifications. Its opening times were Monday to Thursday 9:00-16:00 and Friday 9:00-15:30 and it was held at the Unite Learning Centre on 55 Call Lane.
