This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a birds eye view of the factory floor. The central part of the picture is filled with open space while the frames consist of machines and computers. A sign is hanging from the ceiling. Though it isn't facing towards the camera, the angle Beesley has taken the picture through allows it to be readable. It reads: 'BEWARE OF PEDESRTIANS, SOUND HORN'. Humorously, there is a single person in this picture walking across the factory floor, wearing glasses and the DePuy uniform.
