This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.
This image shows a laundry room in someone's house. Wet clothes are suspended on a washing line, which a woman is adjusting via some kind of cord. Two washing machines, the boiler and another basket of clothes (either wet or dry) can also be seen. A kitchen can be seen through the open doorway with an oven and a drawer. An open cage can also be seen between the washing machines, possibly for a pet. It is unclear what link this has to DePuy Beeston, perhaps it is a workers house?
