This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts an arm caught in motion (being slightly blurry as a result) as it reaches for a component on a table. There are at least 7 pieces all resting on top of a plastic wallet. There are documents inside the wallet but the text is small and difficult to read. They possibly could be order numbers or manufacturing information for the pieces being worked on. A label on the front on the wallet reads the 2nd November 2011. You can see the persons employee ID card as well.
