This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a large machine with many wheels, each with different grooves and holes in them. They seem to be in some kind of chassis or container, evidenced by the windows and window panes around them. There is an out of focus visage of a worker on the right side of the frame holding an object of some kind, either a cloth or a component piece.
