This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.
This image depicts a room through one of its windows. A worker can be seen wearing a pair of glasses, an ID card, a hairnet and a lab/overcoat. They are possibly conversing or gesturing to another person in the room who is obscured by the walls. The inside of the room has a shoe rack that is lined with shoes. A document on the window labels the room as a COSHH clean room.
