This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a man working at a computer while wearing ear defenders, glasses and the DePuy uniform. What he is specifically doing on his monitor is obscured by the printer/photocopier next to it. A large machine of some kind with a movable curtain can be seen in the background and a limited view of the factory floor outside can be seen through the office windows.
