This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a man working at a computer while wearing the DePuy uniform and ear defenders. The image is taken from behind the man's head, which obscures most of the monitor. The computer unit, a telephone, a stapler and a printer/photocopier can be seen on the desk around him. A calendar or notice is pinned up on the wall toward the right side of the frame. A view of the factory floor and another man working can be seen through the windows of the office.
