The Tetley - A Kirkstall Brewery Pub (53°47′31″N, 1°32′23″W)

This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image does not depict DePuy in Beeston, but instead the Tetley's brewery in Leeds. The brewery was closed in 2011 (and later reopened as a contemporary art gallery), I can understand why it caught Beesley's interest at that time. The image depicts a zoomed out view of the entire headquarters, with Tetley's itself being visible on the far right of the picture. A blue plaque can be seen by the Carlsberg branded gate.
