This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image shows a worker wearing glasses, a watch and a DePuy uniform working with an object with both of his hands/ The picture is taken from behind a container box with their hands seen through a gap in the lid, though it is difficult to ascertain what they are working on. The rest of their body is blurred by the plastic/glass of the lid.
