This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a man wearing glasses, a watch and a DePuy uniform working with some kind of object in both of his hands. The picture is taken through a transparent plastic container lid that is open on the side facing the man. A pipe/tube runs into the back of the container and can be seen on the right of the frame.
