This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a man sitting cross armed in a chair while wearing glasses and a DePuy uniform. He is positioned on the right side of the frame, with the left side of the frame being filled with an empty chair and three grinding/sanding machines. An seemingly empty table can be seen behind the man, mostly obscured by his body.
