This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image shows two men posing for the camera. One of them has darker skin, is wearing eye protection, ear protection, an apron and the DePuy uniform. They are pointing at the other man with a smile on his face. Their gaze is tilted downwards and his eyes are closed, possibly either caught blinking or laughing. The other man is lighter skinned and is just wearing the DePuy uniform. His arm is wrapped around the other man while holding a drink with the other, regarding the camera with a grin of his own.
