This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.
This image depicts a whiteboard hung up on a metal fence depicting a rota of weekly cleaning checks/tasks for the 4th November 2011. It lists 'change belts', 'lube head', 'zero counters', 'cmm last one' 'add to total' (underlined). It declares that all the weekly cleaning tasks have been done. It also states that the mops were changed on 19.9.11 and changed on 19.19.11. Another change occurred on the 10.3.11 (though the text is slightly rubbed off at the beginning). A Job Safety Analysis form can also be seen hung up, alongside two wipes and a whiteboard pen.
