Mrs Begum and her daughter Aneela Ahmed, who, as a family, spent a lot of their time sewing new clothes at their Bradford home, helping each other with the washing, and other household chores. Links between Bradford's Asian communities and their homelands are very strong. For instance, despite the fact she can speak English, Mrs Begum is reluctant to use any language apart from Urdu. She has also arranged a marriage to a Pakistani man for her daughter Aneela.
