The Ahmed family home, Bradford. Despite embracing western culture in some ways the daughters wear western style clothes and listen to pop music the family also tries to maintain traditional Pakistani cultural and religious values. A Muslim family fasts and Ramadan are observed and the family's four daughters are encouraged to study the Koran. Whilst she understands English, the mother prefers to speak in Urdu her native language.
