Description
Celebrating the Hindu festival of Navaratri' at the Shree Prajapati temple in Bradford. This festival commemorates Rama's conflict with Ravana and also celebrates the slaying of the Buffalo Deamon by Durga or Kali. The festival lasts for nine days, this image being taken on the last night of celebration at the Temple when a shrine is built and in the centre of the room and first men, then women take it in turns to dance around it singing.
